| The
CSE was pleased to host and make a presentation to an Iranian trade
visit delegation including IRICA the Informatic Companies Association,
MAGFA the Information Technology Development Center and 20 of the
largest IT companies.
Apart
from a presentation by the CSE on its role in assisting software
organisations develop their capabilities, presentations were delivered
by 6 Irish software companies on their own products. These companies
and their products included:

- AERinformatics
- Jet engine maintenance planning
- MoneyPoint
- Cash processing

Rockall Technologies - Loan security management

Epionet - Application development platform based on service oriented
architectures

Clintech - Patient oriented clinical information systems
The
trade mission was associated with the visit of Mr Jahangaard, the
Special Envoy of the President for the development of e-government
and the ICT industry, Mr Ganbari the Deputy Minister for ICT and
Mr Afkhami-rad the Deputy Minister for Industry & Mines.
The trade visit
was successfully co-ordinated my Nick Marmion and Maebh Maguire
of the Dubai office of Enterprise Ireland.
Iran
is the industrial hub of its region and is undergoing major economic
development including a significant investment in IT. The visit
to Ireland of this trade mission is a further reinforcement of the
interest of Iran in the Irish software sector. Almost 60 Irish companies
met with the Iranian companies over a 2-day period. Feedback was
very positive from organisations from both countries. A number of
significant projects are likely to come about as result of this
visit.
The
CSE has been working with organisations in Iran since 2001 and is
pleased to be of assistance to any company wishing to do business
there.
